A tuition-based women’s Chorus made up of singers from the entire Phoenix area, Valley WE performs selections from a broad range of musical genres and styles, giving audiences a fun mix of all their favorites – both modern and classic. The silver fleet (de Zilvervloot) was an annual convoy of ships in the 16th and 17th centuries, in which valuables from the Spanish colonies in America were shipped to Spain. At present it ranks among the best Choruses in Slovakia. During its 55-year existence, the aim of the Chorus has been development of artistic concert activities through the choral singing, interpretation of pieces of music of Slovak and foreign composers who write their pieces of music in the field of choral singing. The main credo is propagation of choral art and tradition and last but not least representation of city of Žilina and Slovakia all over the Europe and the world. Permanent and particularly important concert activity of the Chorus has been cooperation with professional Štátny komorný orchester Žilina (State Chamber Orchestra Žilina) since 1990. This is thanks to the work of Knut Nystedt (b....  moreThroughout its existence the chamber choir Schola Cantorum has had high ambitions. The choir has built an interNational reputation and has made it a trademark to include newly written music in its programmes. This is thanks to the work of Knut Nystedt (b. 1915), organist, composer and conductor, who returned to Norway in 1964 after studying in the USA and started a choir at the music department of the University of Oslo. The choir continues to recruit members from the department of music, as well as from the Norwegian Academy of Music in more recent years. The American choral tradition in which Nystedt was trained emphasises the importance of new music – a practice Nystedt brought back with him to Oslo. Knut Nystedt’s music became a vital element of Schola Cantorum’s repertoire. Tone Bianca Sparre Dahl became conductor in 2002, and has further established the choir’s firm position in Norway’s musical life. She has continued Nystedt’s tradition of performing modern music. Flame Trees are known as 鳳凰木 (Phoenix Trees) in Chinese. Phoenix Singers, Hong Kong is a newly established Chorus, musically directed by Celia Leung. The Chorus meets once a week and share the joy of singing. The Chorus presented concerts at various venues around HK since its inception. We also make it our mission to support local charities at each term.

Since 1998, it has been gathering in Poznań young people from various universities - people who are musically talented, active and open to new friendships and exchange of cultural experiences. The Academic Choir of Gdańsk University of Technology performed at the Second Gala Concert of the 16th edition of the festival. The concert was held in the Adam Mickiewicz University Aula, known for its excellent acoustics. The choir performed among distinguished performers such as the Academic Choir of Warsaw University, the Academic Choir of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Choir of Mahidol University from Thailand, and the percussion duo of Piotr and Bartłomiej Sutt.  less
