Created to be a Chamber ensemble specializing in demanding classical choral works, Meistersingers maintains high standards in literature and chooses outstanding performance venues with beauty and elegance equal to the music. We are committed to continuing this path and expanding our influence in the music community through different means such as composition competitions and scholarships. Palestrina, Bach, Victoria, Britten, Howells, RVW, Elgar, Poulenc etc, Need enthusiasm, music reading and some sight singing, or a good ear and quick learning. We dont audition, but invite you to try us and we to try you for a couple of sessions and see. Perform about 2 or 3 times a year.  

The Vocal Art Ensemble of Davis, California performs Dan Forrest's "Selah (Pause") from his Words From Paradise. This was from the second performance by this a capella Chorus on the performance tour of Ireland, September 2-11, 2010.

We are based in Oxford and many of our younger singers have gone on to sing professionally in London. We sing a wide range of classical repertoire, from Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, many written by John Duggan. We have recorded two discs for The Gift of Music and give concerts in Oxford and London, as well as making regular trips to France and Italy.
