The essence of the Victoria Scholars’ Music is an emphasis on the clarity and balance of sound so characteristic of Renaissance Music. Their repertoire encompasses medieval plainchant, works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, contemporary and newly commissioned works. Past winners of the Canada Council Healey Willan Grand Prize in the CBC Radio National Competition for Amateur Choirs, the Victoria Scholars have performed with many of Canada’s exceptional vocal soloists, and have toured both in eastern and western Canada. To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat re...  moreOn Christmas Eve morning 2017, I was approached by a member of our congregation who said he had been inspired by the Holy Ghost to write some words and that he would like me to set them to Music. To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat repetitive, but as the day progressed to the early afternoon I found that I was also inspired (I even missed lunch!). The piece varies in mode from D Dorian to A Aeolian. The performance is by me (multi-tracking).

Santa Fe's remarkable SCHOLA is locally known as "Santa Fe's Sacred Music Ensemble" and is a year-round choral ensemble, performing throughout the states of New Mexico and Colorado with an occasional trip to Europe!
