Originating from a Leicestershire yout...  moreThe Chanterelles performing My Love Dwelt in a NorThern Land by Edward Elgar at The 2012 Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Conducted by Dr Shirley Court. The Chanterelles is a ladies choir from all over The UK. Originating from a Leicestershire youth choir and reforming as an adult choir in February 2009, members now come togeTher to perform about five times each year. Having tasted success as a Youth Choir in Llangollen in 1998, The choir returned in Their new guise as a Female Choir In July 2010, winning Their section and taking Their place in The Choir of The World competition. This success was followed by Concerts in Macclesfield and Birmingham and a win at The North Wales Choral Festival in November 2011. In 2012, The choir competed in The Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at The Cork Choral Festival and won 2nd prize in this year's International Eisteddfod in Llangollen. From renowned festivals, such as The Leipzig Bachfest, The MDR Summer Music, The music festival in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, The “Kultursommer” in Nordhessen, and The “Musiksommer” in both Schönberg and Quedlinburg, to performances abroad, The singers have been warmly welcomed. The vocal quintet went on tour in 2007 to The People’s Republic of China and in 2010 to Taiwan. In 2013 The group was invited to Rome to perform a Concert in honor of The council chairman of The Evangelical Reformed Church visiting The Holy See. In The same year Thios Omilos won first place in The Johannes-Brahms-Competition in Wernigerode, The Anton-Bruckner-Competition in Linz, and The Leipzig Conservatory of Music and Theater Ensemble Competition.
