From its very beginning in October 16, 1956 and until now, it is made up exclusively of male students and graduates of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (former Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). The Choir’s directors have traditionally been exclusively women — talented Choirmasters who represented the classical Russian choral School. The repertoire of the MEPhI Male Choir includes practically all genres of choral Music: Russian and Western classics and spiritual Music, opera choruses, works by modern composers, Russian folksongs, and some popular songs of the Soviet era.  less

My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord was performed as part of the Vocal Artists program for the Tolosa Choral Contest's "Sacred Music" category of competition, in which they were awarded First Prize. This creates a "virtual" performance, since the piece is strung together from multiple acoustical venues from multiple days. The performance tour also included other modern works, such as Eric Whitacres "Sleep" and "Lux Aurumque", Frank Ticheli's "There Will Be Rest", and Dan Forrest's "Selah".
