Life is a Circle By Black Elk ~ Oglala Sioux ~1863-1950 Everything the power of the world does, is done in a circle. The sky is round and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind in its' greatest power whirls. Birds make their nests in circles; for their's is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back to where they were. The life of a man is a circle, from childhood to childhood. and so it is with everything where power moves.  less

Words so old, they are new. Two words so sweet the moon floating beyond the trees' branches pauses to fill my mouth. Words so melodious, when an ant inches up my neck, I make no move to brush it off. A pair of words so sweet that despite myself I say "How lovely life is." Calming, gentle, they are like scented oils poured over my body. The Choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music Ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate chamber groups in the Western United States. This award-winning Ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate Ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler.
