The choir was established in 1996 (originally in the Lehava High School for Girls) by singer/choral conductor Nomi Teplow with the goal of bringing together girls with musical ability to work on a highly professional level and produce a wide variety of vocal music. The choir is comprised of 25-30 girls from areas throughout Samaria ranging in age from 13-18 years. The Shir-El choir performs in concerts and at vocal conventions across the country bringing fine singing, rich harmonies and words of hope, faith and love of Israel to a broad range of audiences. Primarily, we are singing in our parish here in Angat, Bulacan and using the talent that was given to us to serve God every sunday and any other liturgical celebrations. We are also being invited in some various events to perform.

The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber choir, a mixed young adult Chorus, and a community adult Chorus. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas Concert and Year End concert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training choirs may also perform at various events in the community. We have about 25 members currently, but we are gaining new members each year. We put on two "shows" each year to raise funds that benefit the Chorus as a whole. We also perform throughout the year at various venues - retirement communities, nursing homes, churches, banquets, and other events.
