Since 2008 we have been coming together in central London to learn and perform sea-shanties, murder ballads, protest songs, work songs, love melodies, folkified non-folksongs, and good old knees-up tunes, from across the centuries and all over the world.

It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions. The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond. Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.  less

The members live at different places throughout the country. Five times a year they gather in different places in Norway to share music with each other and their audience. The singers have a true passion for singing and performing music, which captures the audience in a way that makes them feel like they take part of a musical journey that Via Vitae guides them through. The choir shows the way through a wide repertoire of choral music, both secular and church music, rhythmical and classical music. They present a program that includes music you feel like dancing to as well as music you feel like meditating to. Twitter.com/ViaVitaechoir Facebook.com/ViaVitaechoir  less

Our strength is in our repertoire and our ethos. We sing songs of protest, passion and celebration throughout the ages from all around the world. Leaving no generic stone unturned, our repertoire is wildly eclectic and deeply funky; songs to make you laugh, stomp your feet, shiver with harmonic delight and keep coming back for more! Our Musical Director Kirsty Martin explains our vision: “We believe that collective song is a strong and versatile instrument that can move mountains. We stand out from the sing-along choirs and the corporate choral businesses as a bold creative force; an equitable, exploratory and enjoyable musical community who share and perform innovative vocal music together with a palpable and infectious joy. We’re willing to go where no choirs have gone before! We are the music makers, ...    less
