We are stretching ourselves to be better Music readers and vocal technicians, and also to be able to learn Music by ear, memorize simpler songs quickly, and be free in our bodies while singing.

We are a non auditioned choir, always keen to encourage new members, particularly Tenors. We rehearse on Mondays from 7.30 to 9.30 at St Peter's Church, Wyndham Square, Plymouth.

Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those interested to gather together to sing, more formal concerts were later organized and presented. In addition to two planned concerts a year (a ChrIstmas concert in the Fall and a Spring concert), There are frequently requests from local organizations for appearances. For example, in the spring of 2011, the group performed at the Wright Brothers Monument for the Centennial of the Wright Brothers Glider Flight. The repertoire of the Outer Banks Chorus ranges from the Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kinds and in different languages. Recently the chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers. All are invited to hear the chorus sing exceptionally lovely and wonderful choral Music. During 2012. they performed in 3 contests, in Gorizia (ITA) - 1st prize in pop cathegory, Graz (AUT) - bronze in pop cathegory and Rijeka (CRO) - 1st prize in gospel and jazz.
