Their stylish performances, featuring early Medieval plainchant right through to commissions of West Australian composers, have been delighting audiences and critics alike since 1995.
The Consort prides itself on unearthing lesser-known early music (such as music of De Brossard, Certon, and Clereau), showcasing larger-scale choral masterpieces (Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers, various Bach Cantatas), and presenting high-quality interpretations of well-known classics (Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Durufle's Requiem, Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia, Allegri's Miserere and Tavener's Song for Athene).
Many singers from The Giovanni Consort have gone on to national and international careers. Rachelle Durkin, Taryn Fiebig, Iain Grandage, andrew Moran, Stuart Haycock, Luke Gabbedy, Amber Lister, and recently Katja Webb have all gone on to grace the stages of opera houses and concert venues a... less

The Sierra Boys Choir is the new revival of the Sierra Boys Choir in the 1970s, which was active in the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area and directed by Stan Burke. When Mr. Burke joined the Mario Singers and left to move to Long Beach, CA, the Choir was disbanded and a hole was left in the local arts and culture scene. The revival of the Choir is a project (and passion) of Nathan Lundholm.
Our goal is to provide musical and artistic opportunities to the boys while teaching them to be generous and thankful members of the local and global community. Our aim is to be fun and entertaining on many levels, from practices to shows, even to social events on the town.
We put all volunteers through a background check, and we ask some degree of participation from parents.
The Sierra Boys Choir is a 501c3 non-profit corp. All donations and contributions are tax-deductible.
