Stars that spill on a melting stem of brilliance down to earth, make landfall here like swans who are burnt by flight. We find an orphan of ashes, a child of chilled obsidian: in the middle of winter we nurture the seeds of stars. On days of silver light at the end of summer, they’ll lift away to resume their long migration.
