Conductor: Terence Maskell Soloists: Jayne Tankersley (soprano), Dean Sky-Lucas (countertenor), David Hamilton (tenor), Chalium Poppy (bass) --- This performance by The Graduate Choir NZ exploits with delight the wonderful collaboration with NZ Barok who provide the gamut of instrumental colour using original instruments (or modern copies of originals) and with specialist players from Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. This performance is further enhanced by the use of "Baroque pitch" - the nearest equivalent to the pitch used in Germany at the start of the 18th century where A = 415, a semitone lower than our modern pitch. In keeping with these stylistic demands, the size of the Choir is reduced to 3-5 voices per part. We think everyone can sing and complete beginners, shower singers and pros are all welcome. With no auditions and no requirements to read music it’s all about the enjoyment of singing. We sing for 3 terms a year and each term ends with a fantastic end of term charity gig, it’s great to be able to give back to the local community whilst enjoying ourselves so much! We sing everything from Queen and Aretha Franklin to Hozier and Florence and the Machine, and have members ranging in age from 20-70, there is really something for everyone! This is our Choir's 10th year and we're always looking for new members, so if you fancy a sing please get in touch.
