Since its formation in 1964, the Choir appears annually at the Welsh Proms and has performed with many of the world’s leading conductors, orchestras and soloists including: Sir Colin Davies; Sir Andrew Davies; Tadaaki Otaka; Owain Arwel Hughes; The London Symphony Orchestra; BBC National Orchestra of Wales; The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Raphael Wallfisch, Luciano Pavarotti; Dame Kiri Te Kanawa; Felicity Lott and Bryn Terfel. We have also sung for both the Queen and Nelson Mandela. The Choir’s versatility has led to countless recordings and broadcasts on both Radio and Television, most recently on BBC Radio 4. Commissioning of new works remains high on the Choir’s artistic agenda alongside an active tradition of promoting the work of Welsh composers, notably that of William Mathias, Alun Hoddinott, Geraint Lewis, John Metcalf & Mervyn Burtch. We perform four major concerts per year, including a holiday program, a classical performance with orchestra, and a spring pops concert.

We are an auditioning, non-professional chamber Choir, performing a diverse programme of repertoire at regular intervals throughout the year. We draw our membership from the hugely successful EC4 Music, a Choir and orchestra that is widely regarded as one of the leading large amateur groups in London, and it is from this platform of success that CCoV takes its lead. EC4 Music recently performed at the Barbican for the fifth time, raising money for The Prince’s Trust and is also very excited to be making its Royal Festival Hall debut in October this year to mark the grand finale of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2011. Lord Mayor, Michael Bear's appeal supports children’s charity Coram and RedR, a charity that trains and provides engineers and other relief workers to respond to worldwide emergencies. Roots Chorale started out as an initiative to keep the choral practice alive outside of the church circles and to promote these practices in the community of San Andres Islands Archipelago.
