The three Christmas Songs often heard by ordinary people are The First Noel, Jingle Bells, and Santa Claus is Comin' To Town. Otniel does not only combine the three Songs in the order of the first, second and third Songs. In a certain part, namely at the end of the song, he combines the three Songs to be sung simultaneously with the accompaniment of applause and Christmas bells. This song has a unique dynamic, in which Otniel wants the choir singing it to invite the entire audience to sing along and the singers must help convince the audience that the joy of Christmas is with them. Born and raised in Ukrainia dr. Myroslaw Antonowycz conducted the worship services in Culemborg for the reestablished Ukrainian seminar. After the seminarians were graduated, they swarmed out to fulfill their priestly vocation for the Ukrainians all over the world. The now outside the monastery walls well-known seminarian choir fell apart while applications for the singing of liturgies and concerts throughout the Netherlands, kept coming. On the initiative of Msgr. AG Smith, dr. Antonowycz founded the Utrecht Byzantine Choir on February 9, 1951, consisting of only Dutch men, who specialized in singing the liturgy according to the Slavic-Byzantine rite. In cooperation with the Apostolate of the Eastern Churches, the UBK initially only sang liturgies according to the Byzantine Rite. The Yorkshire based choir is around 40 members strong and has developed a wide repertoire from classical and Folk to swing, jazz and Songs from the shows. The choir maintains a busy schedule of concerts and competitions both in Huddersfield and further a field.
