Since forming in November of 2010, The Marion Consort have performed in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Arlington Heights. This past August, they had the privilege of performing at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the Classical Music Mondays series. Their mission is to present performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while also exploring the works of lesser known composers. We sang in PORTUGAL, Burgos Cathedral, the Church of the Magdalene Torrelaguna, the Monastery of St.. Domingo de Silos, Mecerreyes Church and Collegiate Covarrubias (Burgos), the Iglesia de la Santa Cruz of Carballiño (Orense), the Iglesia de Sta. María of Requena (Valencia), Ntra. Founded in 1934, the Victoria Choral Society has played a leading role in Victoria's cultural life, and has performed with every Victoria Symphony conductor since the Symphony’s inception. The choir was created after 200 singers, representing most of the church choirs of the day in Victoria, assembled in 1934 to sing Messiah. They agreed to continue singing together to promote choral music, and the Victoria Choral Society, at that time called the Victoria Choral Union, was formed. The instrumentalists who played with the choir later formed the Victoria Symphony.
