In addition, The Choir has performed major new compositions by New Zealand composers, such as Missa Pacifica by David Hamilton in 2006, and John Drummond’s The Journey Home in 2012. For its 125th anniversary The Choir commissioned a new work from Malcolm (Jack) Speirs: Cantico del Sole, and for its 150th anniversary celebrations The Choir commissioned a new work from Christopher Marshall: For What Can Be More Beautiful?.

Under The skilled direction of Howard Kane, who was appointed musical director in 2008, and ably assisted by Robert Woods The Choir has grown in size and reputation.
Rehearsals
Monday nights are rehearsal nights which are held in Frodsham Methodist Church, Kingsley Rd, WA6 6BA from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members are welcome to come along and give us a try.
We rehearse from September through to July for our four main Concerts, which are held in Frodsham, and also take our music to oTher venues in The area. Groups of singers from within The Choir are available to sing at weddings and The Choir regularly puts on events to raise money for local charities.
