Individual song parts recorded by the choristers using their own equipment following lead videos made by our Director, Pierre. Pierre then put together the video using Final Cut Pro.
A message from the Director:
"Christmas 2020 is the first in our 43-year history where we haven’t been able to stage live concerts, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still sing. So, after planning, rehearsing and recording, we are proud to present Ô nuit - one selection from our Virtual Christmas Concert of 6 carols. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstkQZ9-5Gs
We hope you will enjoy our renditions of old favourites, some in new settings by our director, along with a few lesser known pieces from our carol archives.
I cannot be more proud of my musical colleagues for forging through the complex logistics of putting these videos together. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow choir members, and for their diligence in pr... less

Canticum Calamitatis Maritimae is an eight-part, a cappella classical choral composition by the Finnish composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi. Completed in 1997, the piece was inspired by the MS Estonia disaster of 1994. It won third prize in the European composition competition for cathedral choirs in 1997.
The text of the piece is taken from three sources: the Catholic Requiem Mass, Psalm 107: "They that go down to the sea in ships...", and the report of the disaster from the weekly Latin-language Finnish news service, Nuntii Latini.

In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the choir in recording 4 of his pieces. The other three were "Sanctus", "Luminous Night of the Soul", and "Vast Eternal Skies"
This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas II" is from that session, which included a rendition of the piece sung in in its published (unaccompanied) version as well.
This was Mr. Gjeilo's second time on our campus, the first was in the spring of 2011, which resulted in 5 videos and a DVD (http://goo.gl/Xld0o)
As of 2013, the CWU Chamber choir also has recorded videos of the music of Byrd, Monteverdi, Muehleisen, Singh, Victoria, and Rautavaara on YouTube.

Performed by Salutaris Chamber choir (http://salutaris.by) directed by Olga Yanum. Solo: Yuliya Shedzko. The original poem is written by Sara Teasdale and translated into Belarussian by Yuliya Shedzko. Sound: Viktor Kisten || Floating on the waves of Baltic Sea and miraculous music by one of our favorite composers, Ēriks Ešenvalds, we invite you to go back to childhood for a few minutes – only in sleep though.
We got an idea for this video while we were on tour in Latvia (composer's homeland), in a coastal city Liepāja. Only on the waves of our dreams can we return to the time of our childhood, only in sleep we can for a short time become little boys and girls again – they still live somewhere within us. Let's not forget about them!
Children of Salutaris' singers took part in this video – they are our future, as well as the future of our choir.
