With a membership of around 140 singing a wide range of Music, from big choral works to more modern pieces, both classical, secular and popular, SingSoc welcomes people with a wide range of experience who just want to sing, whether student or not.
We're a group of young professionals who specialise in early Music, but Polyphony especially. The singers are made up of Cathedral choral scholars and Oxbridge choral scholars. They're directed by Matthew Collins.
The Ebor Singers was formed by Paul Gameson in 1995. The group includes past and present Music students at the University, some of whom also pursue solo careers. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear.
