We have a superb choral director who is getting the best out of us. The is no audition: just a love of singing. We are a mixture of very experienced to none. The choir is bilingual English and Spanish with a truly international membership. Formado por cuatro mujeres de un coro que cerró. Estamos afrontando los retos de empezar de nuevo. Tenemos un director coral magnífico que está sacando lo mejor de nosotras. No hay audición: solo amor por cantar. Somos una mezcla de personas con mucha experiencia y otras sin experiencia. The quartet has ...  moreBarbershop Istanbul was founded in 2014 to perform classical and modern Barbershop style acapella music. As Turkiye's first Barbershop style vocal ensemble, the qartet became the first Turkish member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The quartet has performed at various prestigious venues including Casa Botter, Akbank Sanat, BKM Mutfak, Pera Museum, Borusan Music House, Santa Maria Draperis Church, St. Pierre and St. Paul's Church. In 2017, they received an invitation from Harmony University - Quartet College in Nashville, USA, and became the first Turkish quartet to attend this annual Barbershop convention and performed to international audience. Barbershop Istanbul was greatly appreciated by the audience in Nashville, the birthplace of the genre, as well as in Turkiye. The quartet's repertoire includes not only classical Barbershop arrangements and Barbershop arrangements of popular music, but also Kaan Bayır's works of popular, traditional and classical turkish music arranged in Barbershop style.  less
