The Concert Choir gives a number of performances in Southern California every year, and has also toured in Canada, Hawaii, Europe, and the United States. The Concert Choir performs a variety of accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire, and collaborates annually with the CSUF University Singers to present performances of choral-orchestral masterworks. They have joined the University Singers in performances with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. For the past four years they have represented CSUF at the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association Festival of Choirs. It is a registered charity centred around the Kenfig Hill community of South Wales, UK. We also have two associated youth choirs 'Da Capo' and 'Crescendo'. The choir's history stretches back to 1896, with a few gaps. The latest incarnation was re-founded in 1972.

The piece builds to climax at "For Thine is the Power and Glory forever!" and ends reflectively, savoring the "Amen". THE COMPOSER: Composer Vijay Singh is Professor in the music department at Central Washington University. In mid-April, 2011, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the choir in recording 3 of his pieces, (the teaser/trailer URL is found below) This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas" is from that session, following a rendition in which the composer joined the choir and improvised an accompaniment (URL below). In this video the choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version. One behind-the-scenes comment: On the last page of the piece, when the first melodic material occurs again - Ola, who was sitting in the hall, asked half the choir to hum while the other half sang to create a more ethereal effect.
