Belle Canto was the first choir formed in the Cantilon family and remains its only adult ensemble. In touring and recording, Belle Canto has distinguished itself as one of today’s foremost women’s ensembles. Originally a group of university students, the choir now consists of amateur singers from all walks of life. Belle Canto particularly enjoys exploring the contemporary repertoire of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and has recorded much of this repertoire on their disc, Invocation.  less

Our performances reflect this belief in their use of such seasonal themes as ‘freedom’ and ‘healing’ and ‘our mother earth;’ and in presentation of mostly new music in a way that is accessible. Our educational programs reflect this belief by training emerging professionals, planting seeds within young people for a lifetime of music involvement, and growing the skills of our own members. The heart of Dozan wa Awtar Music Establishment is singing and community building. Major activities revolve around three groups: Dozan wa Awtar Singers, Dozan and Atfal Dozan. Dozan wa Awtar Singers is an innovative large community choir ranging from 40-60 singers that performs three main concerts a year. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of genres including classical, musical theater, Arabic and world music . Dozan is a chamber choir that experiments with new Arabic arrangements and other world music and specializes in smaller tailored performances as well as festivals and competitions.
