It is well known a...  moreGOSPEL SINGERS WANTED, Audition 5th & 6th July 2021 – Black History Month Background Union Chapel is a historic church based in Islington with a small but enthusiastic congregation looking to expand our horizons. It is well known as an iconic music venue attracting major artists. It is also a centre for social justice and community activities. In recent years, the church has been developing music in our Sunday services with a range of genres, classical, Jazz, gospel, and world music. The church has also created several unique events led by our musicians. These have included our annual Christmas Candlelight service, Good Friday evening performances and smaller events to commemorate such occasions as Black History Month, a remembrance event in the Covid pandemic. Besides the usual church festivals, we also have special services for Refugee Week, Gay Pride, Holocaust Memorial, and other special commemorations. It was the official choir of the Masaryk University in Brno between 1999 and 2003. Since then it has continued as a civic association. In 2003 Štěpán Policer took up the artistic leadership of Gaudeamus, since 2007 Dáša Karasová has been leading the choir. The choir has been undoubtedly contributing to the advancement of Brno musical culture by giving concerts and appearing at benefit events annually. The Chorus specializes in the performance of Negro spirituals and is dedicated to its preservation as well as the performance of works by African American composers. The CSCC also maintains a liberal helping of standard classical music in its repertoire. Its members come from all walks of life, unified by their mutual love of great music. This award-winning ensemble has performed numerous times on radio, presented its own television “Special” on the statewide educational television network, as well as appearances on local TV stations. The establishment of the chorus is to build a platform for the youth to promote choral music and realize their dreams, as well as to organize different cultural exchange activities to promote music and serve the society. In the summer of 2011, HKVC held their debut concert “Sing Out a Dream” in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall to raise funds to support the charitable work of the Lions Club of Central. In 2012, the chorus organized and performed five shows of a grand scale original youth choral musical “Like. So?”. The musical received positive comments and the chorus was even invited by renowned pianist Ms. Nancy Loo to an interview and performance in her RTHK 4 Radio Program “Cantilena”. The Chorale is the premier, choral ensemble of the University. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 Vocalists selected through a voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been...  moreThe Chorale is the premier, choral ensemble of the University. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 Vocalists selected through a voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been active in choral ensembles in high school or college are encouraged to audition for this choir. Auditions for Chorale can take place at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addition to its regular concert schedule, the Chorale tours each spring (Orlando, ’09; NYC, ’10; Atlanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, Orlando, ’13). A yearly scholarship is offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.  less

We are a newly formed ensemble of women's voices from Canterbury in Kent. Our repertoire ranges from classical motet to Jazz and female barbershop. We perform on a regular basis across Kent and have on going partnership links with choirs in the UK and France.
