Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by hi...  moreThe Idea The award winning “Funky Voices” was founded and launched in 2007 to meet the community who sought a choir that sing modern music that can be enjoyed by everyone, NO AUDITION and NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualified and experienced music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges the music to suit the choir members, and to bring the music up to date and possible for a choir to sing. The Sound With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. The aim is to bring a similar vocal energy to Funky Voices… From Emotional rich harmonies to Feel-good dance tracks, our repertoire includes, including “Take That”, “Michael Jackson”, “Queen”, “Supertramp”, making it an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone. We acknowledge the love of God, by singing soul inspiring songs and to proclaim the word of God through Music. Mission We pursue to sing soul inspiring music with religious and patriotic songs as a way of sensitizing the power of gospel music on nature to our various friends and love ones. Biography The Celestial City choir was initiated by two music students at University of Education, Winneba in 2010. It's formation or foundation began in early January 2011. The members who contributed to the founding were all members from Bantama Seventh-Day Adventist Church about 8 members. Later more hands were called in and official inauguration was done on June 4th 2011.  less
