the group’s repertoire is very eclectic: from spirituals to sacred polyphony, from pop music to regional and international folk songs.
the ensemble has performed in many beautiful churches and other landmarks in Rome and in Central Italy, with concerts in the most important concert halls in the capital city and festivals in many wonderful villas and palaces scattered around the countryside near Rome.
In 2007 and 2009 the choir participated with great enthusiasm in the International Choir Festival in Val Pusteria.

At the heart of EVOKX, our singers share a passion to inspire our audiences with choral music that resonates with the soul, and instill empathy and charity through community engagement and choral performance.
We stand strong in our pursuit for artistic excellence, and strive to nurture our singers’ love of choral music by giving them an avenue to further pursue their interest in choral singing. In evoking the senses, emotions, and memories through the music we make, we hope to bring meaning and purpose to the community at large, and stay steadfast to our fundamental belief that music can bring people from all walks of life together to do good. less

We Rise Again is by Leon Dubinsky, who grew up in Sydney and now lives with his wife and Children on a seaside property in Cape Breton's Englishtown.
Written in 1984 as a hopeful tune for the musical the Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island during a severe economic downturn, it begins:
When the waves roll on over the waters
and the ocean cries
We look to our sons and daughters
To explain our lives
As if a child could tell us why
That as sure as the sunrise
As sure as the sea
As sure as the wind in the trees
We rise again in the faces of our Children
We rise again in the waves out on the ocean
and we rise again....
the day he wrote "Rise Again," Dubinsky recalls, he was watching his ailing father observing his grandChildren playing in a swimming pool. Dubinsky's father had immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine, settling in Cape Breton; he would die a year later, in 1985.
the words just came to him,
Dubinsk... less

the Joy Voices Choir has not stopped: we have chosen a song from our repertoire and each of us, from our own home, has recorded it. the result is, for us, a new performance, different from the usual, which we share to send you our best wishes so that you can spend this difficult period serenely, despite everything.
Our thoughts and prayers are dedicated in particular to those who fight the virus in the front line, to those who work to guarantee us the essential services, to those who are alone, to those who are sick, to those who are in despair, to those who did not make it and to those who have lost a loved one.
Let us send a message of hope for the future, raising our voices to the Lord, confident that He will listen to us and that we will soon return to embrace Him again. Let us remain distant but unite... less
