From 2001-2017 the Choir was directed by jazz Musician and conductor Fraser Gartshore. The current Musical director is composer and conductor Stephen Harrap. We specialise in English-language choral Music, both sacred and secular. The Choir performs regularly in and around Bonn and is best known for its traditional Christmas carol services and concerts. Since 2006, when Gary Weidenaar took the baton, the Choir has received invitations to appear at four state & regional conferences: Meticulous attention is given to performing Music of various periods or parts of the world in the style appropriate to that era or culture including adjustments of not only style but tone color also. Recent clinics with guests Chanticleer and Weston Noble have helped the Choir grow and the Choir regularly premiers new works by composers.  less

Newly formed in 2022, the group is currently comprised of a mixed Choir, a Men's Choir, and a woMen's Choir. The mixed Choir meets at the Manchester Rugby Club, and the Men's and woMen's Choirs meet at the Wilmslow Rugby Club. The repertoire consists of a little bit of everything - madrigals, movies, Musicals, spirituals, shanties, serious songs, silly songs - everything. All singers are welcome, and there is no audition required. We sing as a team, one step at a time.  less

Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the ch...  moreThe Stairwell Carollers are a charitable a cappella Ottawa Choir, who sing sacred and secular renaissance Music, as well as settings of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols. Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the Choir, as well as creating lively and contemporary arrangements of traditional carols. The release of their first CD Qui creavit celum, celebrated the Stairwell Carollers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 they released I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. Their very first madrigal CD, Audite nova, was released in October of 2006 and their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked the release of their first CD of sacred songs from the Renaissance, Cantate Domino, Their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now available for purchase. Winner of the 2010 OMFA provincial competition, they are ranked amongst the best of Canada's Choirs.
