Water Ruminations is a setting of six poems by The thirteenth-century poet Rumi, in English translations from The Persian by Coleman Barks, for double choir and organ. The poetry sings of literal and spiritual connections between water and sky, a drop of water and human life, flowing water and love, drinking water and its container, The giddiness of spring and rolling seas, and The ocean's gifts and singing. Its images, from 800 years ago, speak to us with both vivid immediacy and transcendence.

Le Salve Regina pour ensemble de voix de femmes à quatre voix a
cappella a été composé dans le souvenir intense d'un vitrail dont je me suis
efforcé de retrouver toute la sensation de chaleur et de paix qui s'en
dégageait.
En l'an de grâce 880, au lieu dit Montserrat en Espagne, à la Tombée de la
nuit, des bergers virent descendre du ciel une puissante lumière…
C'est la lumière solaire qui donne vie au vitrail avec ses variations
d'intensité du lever au coucher du soleil. Le verre quant à lui a été :
obsidienne, verre volcanique naturel ; tectite ou fragment de roche fondu et
expulsé en dehors du cratère lors de l'impact d'une météorite ; fulgurite
enfin ou " pierre de foudre " produit par les impacts de foudre sur une
roche... less
