New Members are always welcome! the Choir regularly performs at weddings, corporate events and massed male voice Choir events, enthralling audiences up and down the country, having also performed in Jersey, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the USA. Choristers hail from all over North London and have raised substantial funds for national and local charities including the Paul Strickland Scanner Appeal, the Stroke Association, the RAF Benevolent Fund and Bentley Priory Museum. Its first Members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under ...  moreTHALITAS vocal ensemble was first created in 1996 as an activity of the “APOLLON” Music Club by Giorgos Kaloutsis. Its first Members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under the direction of Mrs. Katerina Tzagkaraki. the name of the ensemble originates from Thalitas, an ancient cretan composer and legislator, after whom a street in Heraklion is named; in this street the first rehearsals of the ensemble took place. the ensemble's primary goal was to acquaint its Members with the a cappella (“in the chapel”, without church organ accompaniment) vocal music of the renaissance period. THALITAS began by studying and performing works of renowned composers of that era (e.g. Josquin des Prez, G. P. da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso) to assist the learning process of its Members' musical studies. Like most traditional male voice Choirs we learn all of our pieces from memory and do not use copies. the Choir has a wide-ranging repertoire from West End showstoppers to opera, religious and traditional choral music. the Choir has gained a reputation for doing many concerts for charity and have raised a lot of money over the years for a number of different causes. the Choir has performed twice at the Royal Albert Hall with over one hundred Choirs in the Festival of Brass and Voices for cancer research UK. the Choir has made several tours both at home and abroad and has raised thousands of pounds for charity totaling nearly £3000 in the past year alone  less

We are an auditioned Chamber Choir of 30-40 Members who love sharing the joy of choral singing with each other and our community. Our regular season consists of at least 4 concerts featuring a variety of musical genres and styles. Because we seek to create meaningful musical experiences, we value interaction and education in our performances. Driven by the desire of thorough preparation of quality choral projects, the Choir works under the leadership of Slovene and foreign guest conductors. the Choir prepared their inaugural concert, entitled In the Beginning, in cooperation with young Finnish conductor Dani Juris the topic of creation coincided not only with the central composition of the concert, Copland’s In the Beginning, but also with the Choir’s first public appearance and presentation of the concept of their work. We are made up of 3 different Choirs - Mixed Chorus, Treble Choir, and Concert Choir. All of our Members are students at Port Huron Northern High School and range from 13-18 years of age. We all share a love of music and create joy through singing together.
