Its creative efforts and dynamic development in 1999 permitted the Choir under the sponsorship of t... moreThe POKRofF (translation: Protection of the Virgin Mary) Chamber Choir was set up in 1993 by its director and trumpeter andrey Goryachev as a church Choir. Its creative efforts and dynamic development in 1999 permitted the Choir under the sponsorship of the Voice of Russia Radio Company to record its first CD – “Divinity in Sound”.
Two more CDs were recorded in 2003 and 2005, devoted to Christmas and Easter. Since 2000 the Choir began touring not only in Russia but also abroad, visiting Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Italy, Ukraine, Moldavia, Croatia, Montenegro, BiH and Estonia.
The Choir also took part in television shows in Russia and abroad, such as in the “Bregenzer Advent” in 2002. Apart from regular concerts and recordings, the Choir also minds it spiritual roots, regularly taking part in church services, both routine and special ceremonial, such as Episcopal services at which it frequently performs. Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus.
The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining Music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the Music closer to the people and to present the Music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All Choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
All Choir ensembles may join one part of the Festival: Competitive or Non-competitive.
