It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that b...  moreKoruso!, meaning Chorus in Esperanto, began in October 2008 as a Southwark Council initiative to promote community cohesion. It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions. The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at The Royal Society for The Arts and was cited by The judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people togeTher through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond. Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing togeTher every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.  less

Zur Zeit bestehen die CHORKIDS ILLERTISSEN aus 56 Sängerinnen und Sänge...  moreBei den CHORKIDS ILLERTISSEN handelt es sich um einen Kinder- und Jugendchor des Gymnasiums Illertissen, der seit September 2001 besteht und einen Auswahlchor dieser Schule darstellt. Zur Zeit bestehen die CHORKIDS ILLERTISSEN aus 56 Sängerinnen und Sängern im Alter von 11 bis 16 Jahren. Mit viel Freude und Engagement proben diese Kinder bzw. Jugendlichen einmal in der Woche je nach Stimmgruppe zwei bis vier Stunden. Fünfmal im Jahr gibt es Intensiv-Probensamstage und einmal im Jahr Intensiv-Probentage im Allgäu. Der Chor hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, anspruchsvolle Chorliteratur verschiedener Stilepochen zu interpretieren. Dabei möchte er sich bewusst von vielen Klischees wenig kultivierten, schulchormäßigen Singens distanzieren und ist bei der Programmgestaltung darauf bedacht, dies auch nach außen hin sichtbar und hörbar zu machen. „Popularmusik“ ist Bestandteil, jedoch auf keinen Fall substanzieller Grundsatz der musikalischen Arbeit. Having tasted success as a Youth Choir in Llangollen in 1998, The choir returned in Their new guise as a Female Choir In July 2010, winning Their section and taking Their place in The Choir of The World competition. This success was followed by concerts in Macclesfield and Birmingham and a win at The North Wales Choral Festival in November 2011. In 2012, The choir competed in The Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at The Cork Choral Festival and won 2nd prize in this year's International Eisteddfod in Llangollen.
