We’re dedicated to making a beautiful sound together in a...  moreWe’re a small group of experienced and enthusiastic singers who enjoy the challenge of performing a varied repertoire of music spanning four centuries and including works by contemporary composers. We’re dedicated to making a beautiful sound together in a choir where every voice counts.  

Sospiri was founded by the composer John Duggan and the singer Christopher Watson. We are based in Oxford and many of our younger singers have gone on to sing professionally in London. We are based in Oxford and many of our younger singers have gone on to sing professionally in London. We sing a wide range of classical repertoire, from Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, many written by John Duggan. We have recorded two discs for The Gift of Music and give concerts in Oxford and London, as well as making regular trips to France and Italy.  

We are a chorus of about 100 singers performing 3 or 4 major choral works per year. We also sing in some of the most renowned cathedrals in the UK
