This is our first virtual Choir, created October-December 2020 on Dharug, Eora and Kuring-gai land. After performing Ola Gjeilo's 'The Ground' in our final Concert in 2019, we were preparing it again for our 'Indomitable Spirit' Concert in May 2020. Then, Covid-19 arrived. Like many Choirs, we kept going online, or outdoors when permitted. This film is a record of our year, made to remind ourselves that joy and connection are still available to us, despite distance and change. This traditional Welsh hymn was arranged for male voice Choir by John Tudor Davies, words by Ieuan Gwyllt. Bois Goetre-hen are a new male Choir covering The lower Llynfi Valley and Bridgend area, with a broad range of choristers and repertoire. This Concert took place in Aberkenfig Bible Church- a fantastic venue near Bridgend.

His refashioned version with The famous Latin text Ubi caritas et amor was commissioned by Prince William and premiered by The Choirs of Westminster Abbey and Her Majesty's Chapel Royal, conducted by James O'Donnell, at The Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales with Miss CaTherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Mealor uses a combination of a plainchant style and misleading harmonic suspensions similar to those of Eric Whitacre or Morten Lauridsen. Mealor's setting of Ubi caritas is reminiscent of The original Gregorian antiphon melody - ...    less
