It was the official Choir of the Masaryk University in Brno between 1999 and 2003. Since then it has continued as a civic association. In 2003 Štěpán Policer took up the artistic leadership of Gaudeamus, since 2007 Dáša Karasová has been leading the Choir.
The Choir has been undoubtedly contributing to the advancement of Brno musical culture by giving concerts and appearing at benefit events annually. It has also been participating in choral festivals and competitions at home as well as abroad (Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia):

The ensemble prepares concerts twice a year, singing highly diverse repertoire, ranging from renaissance compositions to contemporary music and everything in between. The Choir has already competed in two World Choir Games, one in China in 2006 and the other in Austria in 208, where it won bronze & silver medals in the male chamber Choir category. The group has traveled to Nancy, France on invitation, in one of France’s major choral festival, the 14th Festival International Chant de Choral held in May 2007. On tour in Europe, the Choir performed to much acclaim in France, Belgium and Austria.
Prime Note participated in the 2nd California Choral Festival & Competition in June 2009 in San Luis Obispo and continues to have a series of performances in and around Southern California, which the group now calls home.
