From reno...  moreThe Ensemble Thios Omilos was founded in 2002 by members of the Leipzig Thomanerchor and quickly became recognized for their stylistic dedication to the interpretation of sacred music as well as secular lIterature from the renaissance to modern. From renowned festivals, such as the Leipzig Bachfest, the MDR Summer Music, the music festival in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, the “Kultursommer” in Nordhessen, and the “Musiksommer” in both Schönberg and Quedlinburg, to performances abroad, the singers have been warmly welcomed. The vocal quintet went on tour in 2007 to the People’s Republic of China and in 2010 to Taiwan. In 2013 the group was invIted to Rome to perform a concert in honor of the council chairman of the Evangelical Reformed Church visIting the Holy See. In the same year Thios Omilos won first place in the Johannes-Brahms-CompetItion in Wernigerode, the Anton-Bruckner-CompetItion in Linz, and the Leipzig Conservatory of Music and Theater Ensemble CompetItion. All of our singers have been hand-picked and sing wIth some of the top amateur and professional choirs in the country, including: I Fagiolini, Genesis Sixteen, The Carice Singers, Renaissance, The National Youth Choir of Great BrItain and many more. Singing mostly Israeli songs, Members of the choir are from various professions: Doctors, Lawyers, Engeeners, Social workers, Scientists, teachers.artists, The thing we have in common is our love of singing together , the challenge of improving our skills by studying and practicing in order to get an impressive final result. Our musical director and conductor is one of the best most appreciated musicians in Israel ,he has a lot of experience and all our repertoire consists of his very special arrangements. Our repertoire consists of various musical styles : Israeli folk classics, Translated international songs by the Beatles and others, Gospels, A Cappella pieces. The choir participated in Radio and T.V shows , and in choir competItions, and is highly regarded as one of the best amateur choirs in Israel.  less
