"Songs for Braithwaite" was inspired by some of the poems of William Stanley Braithwaite. A two minute commentary (at 7:45 of the video) by the composer follows the performance of the two pieces. We look for the unknown and the unsung. Composers such as Robert White, Jean Mouton and Jean L'Heritier are amongst our repertoire. In addition we champion the music from current composers such a Miskinis, Part and Dubra. In addition we love singing Tallis, Byrd and Tomkins, Tye, Victoria, Guerrero and Padilla etc! We are based in Milton Keynes and have a reputation as being among the very best in the region. We are available for concerts and weddings, plus services in cathedrals and churches. We have provided the services at key UK cathedrals including Westminster Abbey, Salisbury, Hereford and Coventry to name a few.  less

The choir performs three or more significant concerts in Edinburgh each year, and has become known further afield through broadcasts and concerts in Scotland, touring abroad, and singing in support of local and national charities.

We are committed Singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and have opportunities to perform some of the great works from the classical choral repertoire to a high standard and in exciting venues. We also enjoy singing simple music well at smaller performances on our rehearsal weekends and at conference events. Although our performances are mostly in Ireland, we have quite a few Singers from other countries, including UK, France, Germany and Sweden. During 2020, we have held online rehearsals using Zoom and produced two online concerts, raising 11,000 Euro for charity.  less

The familiar African American song, “Angels watching over me” is given cantus firmus treatment while a lilting African lullaby, "Abiyoyo" gently sways around it. The Bantu song, "Abiyoyo" is traditionally sung at bedtime as a song to entrance night time monsters into a dancing state; mother and father can then chase the monsters away so baby can safely sleep.
