Since incorporation, NGGC now operates under two mandate objectives: to develop The professional and musical skills of young adults 20-30 years of age; and to bring gospel music as a respected genre of music, along with its more evolved counterparts (Jazz and Classical music), in Canada.
Gospel Music has served vitally in The development of all members who have joined NGGC. Our unique incorporation, interpretation, and delivery of this embodied form of art, has garnered multiple forms of support — like spectators; organizations; donors; and sponsors alike — granting us The ability to develop both The musical and professional skills of our members in tandem. less

The concert Theme focused on The damaging nature of gossip and The larger meaning of how words are powerful and have greater impact than we realize.
Based on a well-known Jewish folk tale, The piece is largely sung in Yiddish, featuring narrated passages in English, with The moral resolution in Hebrew.

The Choir is currently ranked 1st on The Interkultur World Ranking List for amateur choirs.

Since 1962 The Fairfax Choral Society has been delivering excellent choral programs and music education to The metropolitan Washington, DC area. This auditioned choir has 150 adult mixed voices and 300 Youth mixed voices rehearsing weekly to bring various... moreSince 1962 The Fairfax Choral Society has been delivering excellent choral programs and music education to The metropolitan Washington, DC area. This auditioned choir has 150 adult mixed voices and 300 Youth mixed voices rehearsing weekly to bring various masterworks, original pieces, collaborations and new arrangements to The ears of many.
Doug Mears is The Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with The professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet The rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional Chorus.
FCS is honored to work with renown musicians, conductors and orchestras to present The finest choral programs available. Sometimes we join oTher Choruses to produce even larger musical works. The choral offerings of The Fairfax Choral Society are diverse though always presented after concerted rehearsal and production.
