Dozan wa A...  moreDozan wa Awtar Singers received two Gold Diplomas for its participation in the 8th World Choir Games held in Riga, Latvia this year. The Games included twenty seven thousand singers from four hundred Choirs representing seventy three countries. Dozan wa Awtar, under the leadership of its Founder and Director Shireen Abu Khader, competed in two categories: Scenic Folklore and Mixed Choirs; singing Arabic songs in both and receiving a Gold Diploma in each category. This is the first time Jordan is represented in an international choral competition. On this occasion, Shireen Abu Khader expressed her immense pride at this accomplishment and international recognition and commended the continuous efforts of the singers which led to this achievement. She also thanked all those who have given both financial and moral support to the choir, as this could not have been achieved without their help. The choir’s repertoire of sacred music ranges from the 16th to the 21st centuries, including a recently commissioned and premièred work by Roxanna Panufnik. The choir sings to a cathedral standard every week at the Sung Eucharist on Sunday and Choral evensong every fourth Sunday. It also sings at special services during the year and goes on tour each summer. Recent tours have been to Bordeaux (2014). Dordodgne/Aquitaine (2013), and Rome (2011, 2012).  less

Also Richard Wagner was a honor member of the choir. We are very proud of this facts. But current we are a chor, wich singing manly oratories. The last project was "Die Schöpfung" von Joseph Haydn. This days we rehearse Parts of famous masses from Beethoven, Bruckner und Mozart. These Compositions would be a part of a special concert - a workshop-concert. In german it is called a _Gesprächskonzert_. The wellknown austrian composer _Balduin Sulzer_ will cuduct this concert. It happens at 8 of December 2012 17:00 in the Minoriten-Church in Linz.  less
