Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events su...  moreShakti Sings is a national choir of over 150 people who come together every month to honour the earth through Song. Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events such as Glastonbury Festival 2013 Opening Ceremony, and the United Nations World Environment Day concert in Staines and in Oxford Street, central London. We welcome men and women of all abilities, and sessions are taught by ear so no experience is needed, just a passion for Singing and a love of the earth! Our Musical Director is the renowned Susie Ro Prater who has supported choirs and natural voice movement workshops for many years. Our very enjoyable choir practices take place once a month at the Hythe Centre in Egham, Staines, easily accessible by train from Central London and free parking onsite. Membership is £15 for the year and minimum £5 per member for each of our sessions. Please bring a mug for refreshments. Incredible value! Non-members ...    less

ENCORE! is a small, auditioned group of Twin Cities Women’s Choir. Members bring their gift of Song to the larger community by performing at venues or events too small for the entire choir.

Choir members are based all over the United Kingdom, and we come together only when we rehearse and Sing at a Cathedral city. We do not belong to any particular geographical area or church denomination. In over 25 years, nearly 400 people from all backgrounds have sung with us - often for the first time in an English Cathedral. the number continues to grow year by year. Martin Hall, our founder, became 'Director Emeritus' in Autumn 2006 and Matthew O' Donovan took over the post of Director in his stead. Because of the way we meet, we don't require formal auditions in advance, but New Singers are expected to be excellent sight readers and to have a good choral tone.  less
