Open your hearts and hear, Hear and listen, my brothers: Both you and I are full of dreams; You help me and I help you. That is how we will come to build a world anew. “With many hands, the load is light." “One finger alone cannot eat okra.” Knowledge and wealth are goods of humanity That we must share in true fellowship. These are statements that bring happiness; Words of wisdom that make life harvest. We are, each one of us, seeds of eternity That sprout and bloom in our humanity. In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo adds an improvised accompaniment (in a one-take rendition) to his composition "Northern Lights"-- which is published as an unaccompanied piece. Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment". The other composition to which he created an improvised accompaniment was "Ubi Caritas". He also accompanied the choir on "The Ground", which includes CWU's resident faculty quartet -- the Kairos String Quartet. Ah, moon, help him remember And dream of me, Tell him, O tell him, Who is waiting, who is longing! I am waiting, longing! Longing! Tell him come, tell him, O moon. Help to remember our laughter and tears, Mem'ries of summer nights. Help him remember our triumphs and fears, May this rememb...    less
