Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical obje...  moreVoyces, a 20- piece ensemble of young adult choristers, was formed with the aim of performing a challenging, quality mix of contemporary and traditional choral music. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting the eclectic and often unusual repertoire of the choir. In using the archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – the choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich choral tradition whilst establishing itself in the 21st century choral landscape. The choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact the world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in the local WA and wider Australian musical community. As a strong supporter of emerging young composers and Australian composers, Voyces showcases their works on a regular basis.  less

We bring the exuberant and uplifting sound of gospel music to these two Central L...  moreWe recorded 'The Prayer' in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic as we couldn't sing in our usual venues, St James's Church, Piccadilly and Farm Street Church in Mayfair. We bring the exuberant and uplifting sound of gospel music to these two Central London churches each month. We wanted a song that spoke to hope and community so we decided on 'The Prayer' as a way of bringing hope and comfort to those that hear the song.  

Our chorus of over 35 members is talented and growing, ranging in age from teenage to seniors. Under leadership of our director, Edward Milisits, our repertoire includes both German and American classical, traditional and contemporary songs. Under the guise of other names, we have been in continuous existence for over 50 years and are currently conducted by the highly experienced and talented Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith. We meet on Monday nights at Trinity Chapel, Robert Menzies College from 7.00-9.30pm during school terms. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome, regardless of musical experience.
