Concerts are held in Ely Cathedral and other venues locally with professional soloists and orchestras, together with musicians from the Ely and Cambridge area. The Ely Youth Choir for 13 to 18 year olds was launched with great success in 2010 and is aimed at teenagers who want to experience the fun and excitement of choral singing to public audiences.  less

This is the Choir’s 99th album to be released. Founded in the 1670s, the Choir is known for its distinctive rich, warm sound, its expressive interpretations and its breadth of repertoire. Alongside these musical characteristics, the Choir is particularly proud of its happy, relaxed and mutually supportive atmosphere. The Choir is directed by Andrew Nethsingha following a long line of eminent Directors of Music, recently Dr George Guest, Dr Christopher Robinson and Dr David Hill. A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place! In addition to the competition circuit, The Alliance Chorus also has had many opportunities to give back and perform for the community.
