Solomons and Text by Thomas Clarke. This setting for Christmas represents The cold of a NorThern winter (The cruel wind blows) although of course The actual events took place in raTher warmer climes. It also reflects much of The liturgical and popular symbolism of The Christmas season: robins, holly etc and it brings our thoughts towards The season of Easter with The blood of Good Friday.

While The majority of The singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at The university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of The last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around The country: The Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; The Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; The Music Educators National Convention; The American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and The ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on The international stage as well, representing The US at competitions and festivals around The world. However, he managed to leave a lot of song harmonizations and a significant Mass, which is sung by The choir in The Aghias Triados church of Thessaloniki. From 1969 till now, The Choir continues its work successfully having as its director his elder broTher Vassilis Papakonstantinou, with whom it has given many concerts in more than fifty cities in Greece and aboard, as well. It has visited Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerlandn, Hungary, Czech, Bulgaria, France etc. It has won first prices and gold metals in choir competitions. One of The most important parts of Aghias Triados Children's Choir's history is its participation with European Union Youth Orchestra and Vienna's Youth Choir, to The performance (AThens, 1985) of The third Symphony of Leonard Bernstein under The direction of The composer.  less

On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, The group won Second Runner-Up in The prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of The top five winners in The Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, The Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at The Opening Ceremonies of The Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of The choirs invited to grace The Sing For Me Project of The Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of The winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. The objective was to bring about musical performances (of choral works by foreign and Nigerian composers) of sufficiently high standard for international consumption, within The limitations of national resources.
