This was The Vocal Artists Bon Voyage Concert prior to Their Argentine tour and performance at The 9th International World Choral Symposium. "Stars" was commissioned by and dedicated to The Salt Lake Vocal Artists and Brady Allred. This piece calls for tuned glasses and specifically tuned Tibetan Singing bowls. We sing music from The early 1900's through to more modern songs such as Billy Joel, The Rat Pack etc. The chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at The same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and The chord just locks togeTher and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for The public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time togeTher as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gaTher and enjoy Their interest in singing. In 1989 we began The great tradition of offering students a chance to deepen Their exposure and understanding of The choral art through a year-long experience leading up to The celebratory Festival Day. We partner with selected high schools for a year of fun and memorable musical experiences as Choir students work collaboratively with Their peers from around The Southland. The 2017 Festival culminated in a monumental performance at The awe-inspiring Walt Disney Concert Hall.
