Not sure of the source, but possibly an arrangement of a song written by the Williams Brothers, a traditional black gospel Music group from Jackson, Mississippi formed in 1960. This is a slowed down version with the word 'God' replaced with 'love'. This concert was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Usually eight songs are learnt in six two-hour sessions and in the winter are performed at St. Peters by the Waterfront, Ipswich. http://chrisrowbury.com is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Comprising both choir and period-instrument orchestra, The Sixteen’s total commitment to the Music it performs is its greatest distinction. A special reputation for performing early English polyphony, masterpieces of the Renaissance, bringing fresh insights into Baroque and early Classical Music and a diversity of 20th-century Music, is drawn from the passions of conductor and founder Harry Christophers. At home in the UK, The Sixteen are “The Voices of Classic FM” and Associate Artists of The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. The group promotes The Choral Pilgrimage, an annual tour of Britain's finest cathedrals bringing Music back to the buildings for which it was written. The Sixteen has recently featured in the highly successful BBC television series, Sacred Music, presented by actor Simon Russell Beale - a second series which focused on the Music of Brahms, Bruckner, Fauré, Pärt and Tave... is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

The ensemble has been in residence at The Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch since 2003. Polyhymnia's singers are drawn from many sources, including some of the finest church choirs in New York Since 2000, director John Bradley has been creating original editions of Music for the ensemble, some of it secreted in manuscript collections since the 16th century. Working in concert with libraries, liturgical historians and institutions, Polyhymnia hopes to both preserve and reintroduce choral masterworks of the Renaissance and early Baroque in ways that both entertain and elucidate. In addition to the concert series, the ensemble's unique relationship with Saint Ignatius of Antioch, a forerunner in the preservation of historical liturgy, provides opportunities to perform Renaissance and Baroque Music in a liturgical context, while fostering Musical ... is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

The choir’s repertoire imaginatively balances unaccompanied choral Music from the Renaissance period with 19th - 21st century works. Although relatively small in number, the choir is accomplished in singing Music in both double and triple choir form. Particular specialisms include the works of William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Tómas Luis da Victoria. The choir has performed in many prestigious venues in Europe, including Notre-Dame in Paris, Chartres cathedral and Versailles. Events such as the Prague Spring International Festival (Czech Republic) have also featured the choir. In 2006, in Budapest, the choir performed Tallis’s towering 40-part motet Spem in Alium, with the internationally renowned Budapest Monteverdi Choir. In 2008 the choir enjoyed a trip to the Lisbon region and sang in some truly fantastic venues, including Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

The members live at different places throughout the country. Five times a year they gather in different places in Norway to share Music with each other and their audience. The singers have a true passion for singing and performing Music, which captures the audience in a way that makes them feel like they take part of a Musical journey that Via Vitae guides them through. The choir shows the way through a wide repertoire of choral Music, both secular and church Music, rhythmical and classical Music. They present a program that includes Music you feel like dancing to as well as Music you feel like meditating to.
