Carlow Choral Society is a mixed-voice Choir of over 60 members (SATB) directed by Blánaid Murphy, Musical Director of The Palestrina Choir, St. Mary’s ProCaThedral Girls Choir, Dublin Bach Singers and RIAM Choir. We Annually we perform two large Concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in The National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family Concert in The George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow.
We have a remarkable repertoire of many Choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. MaThews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 The Choir recorded a Christmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm. Initially formed as part of a School-outreach program with The Quintessential Vocal Ensemble (QVE) in Newfoundland in 2009, Afterglow developed a love of 6-part a cappella music and began searching for new and challenging musical experiences. All members ... moreInitially formed as part of a School-outreach program with The Quintessential Vocal Ensemble (QVE) in Newfoundland in 2009, Afterglow developed a love of 6-part a cappella music and began searching for new and challenging musical experiences. All members of QVE, The singers range in disciplines from Music to Engineering to The Arts.
Afterglow performs frequently throughout St. John’s, including being featured guests on CBC Radio, local television, Festival 500, as well as community Concerts and fundraisers. The group writes Their own arrangements and began presenting full Concerts last spring.
Afterglow was one of 11 groups selected world-wide to partake in The Small Vocal Ensembles component of international biennial Festival 500 in July 2011. This will include masterclasses and individual coaching sessions with Bob Chilcott and Finnish group, Rajaton. Sie sind jung, sie singen gut und sie sind voll im FLOW. Die ca. 30 Sängerinnen und Sänger im Alter zwischen 16 und 31 Jahren begeistern seit 2017 unter der Leitung von Luc Nelissen (u.A. Rock4) die Stadt Aachen, die Region und auch darüber hinaus die Menschen mit ihrem Gesang. Alles a cappella – FLOW präsentiert sowohl ruhige Lieder als auch coole Beats.
Bereits gute zwei Jahre nach der Gründung, hat sich der Chor schon einen großen Namen gemacht. Auf Auftritte im Rahmenprogramm der Karlspreisverleihung 2017 oder der Chorbiennale im selben Jahr, folgte bald die Umsetzung eigener Projekte. So nahm Flow Ende 2017 eine erste EP mit fünf Songs auf und konnte 2018 ein eigens produziertes Musikvideo zu ihrer Version von February Song (im Original von Josh Groban) aufnehmen.
Der Chor der Musikschule Aachen sorgte zuletzt im Fernsehen für Furore, als der WDR Ende 2018 „den besten Chor im Westen“ suchte. Stimmgewaltig, voller Energie und Lebensfreude stürmten die Aachener ins Finale und überzeugten mit ihrem Ges... less

En la... moreLa Escolanía María Auxiliadora (EMA) es un coro de voces blancas que nace en 1997 en el Colegio María Auxiliadora (Salesianas) de Cádiz por iniciativa de Antonio Hernández Asencio, profesor de música del centro y director musical desde su fundación. En la actualidad sus componentes vienen desde distintos centros escolares, institutos y facultades.
En sus ya 18 años de historia la EMA ha participado en multitud de concursos, encuentros y congresos con coros de todo el mundo y ha sido invitada a colaborar en galas y proyectos benéficos. Tuvieron especial relevancia los encuentros nacionales en Guadix (Granada), Toledo, Oviedo y Murcia, así como los congresos internacionales en Granada, Estocolmo, Roma y París. En julio de 2012 realizó una intensa gira de siete conciertos en la región de Aveyron (Francia), en abril de 2013 fue invitada al I Festival Internacional de Coros en Casablanca (Marruecos) y en 2014 al Festival Internacional de Canto Coral en Tánger.
