Most of what the viewers on youtube get to see of us does not effectively capture our interactive and engaging live experience. We hope that this promo clip will give viewers and fans of our Music a chance to see Rendezvous in action, and what we have to offer as a professional recording, competing and performing quartet. Rendezvous was formed in 2008 by Music majors studying jazz at Humber College in Toronto. Since then, their barbershop/a cappella jazz Music has taken them all over the world to perform and compete. They are active members of the barbershop community, especially with heavy involvement in the online community of barbershoppers and multitrackers. Most important of all, they are just 4 young guys who love to sing and have fun, and share Music with anyone who will take a moment to listen. This SATB group presents members from across the length and breadth of the island ranging in age from 16 to 26 years. Dynamic, gifted and spirited are some of the words used to describe this group of vocalists and Musicians. The JYC was founded by its principal director Gregory Simms, a member of the World Choir Council and National Coordinator for Music with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission. We actively participate in cultural life of the towns of our influence, like Colmenarejo or Galapagar and in other towns like El Escorial or Valdemorillo, performing at Christmas, Easter, the festivity or "Galapajazz" as "opening act" of "Manhattan Transfer" and Art Garfunkel. We sang in PORTUGAL, Burgos Cathedral, the Church of the Magdalene Torrelaguna, the Monastery of St.. Domingo de Silos, Mecerreyes Church and Collegiate Covarrubias (Burgos), the Iglesia de la Santa Cruz of Carballiño (Orense), the Iglesia de Sta. María of Requena (Valencia), Ntra. Sra. del Buen Suceso or Las Calatravas in Madrid and at Mass on Sundays TVE issues, from the parish of Los Arroyos (El Escorial). We organize the Choral Events of Colmenarejo. More info and score can be found on www.stefanklaverdal.com “See, darkness covers the earth” is built on a previous piece for bass clarinet (or cello) and computer called "One of the seven angels". The title is a quote from book of revelations, and "See darkness..." is in its turn a series of other quotes that the first title refer to in various ways. It turns out that the references to me felt very contemporary and had to do with the current trends in society and that meant that I could both recompose something old, use new old texts that referred to an old piece of mine and construct a very contemporary and important piece that may both say something about our time and give hope for a better future.
