The choir is an integral part of the Sunday worship service. The soulful reckoning that they are singing for their Lord and Saviour is what drives the choir in spite of the hectic schedules of its members. The Choir has a good mix of youth and experienced members ranging from an age of 14 years and above. Yeah, we don’t have an age limit!
The East Parade Malayalam Choir is recognized as one of the best church choirs in the Garden city and has been invited to perform in various concerts organised by other churches, institutions and groups. We thank God Almighty for His abundant grace, blessings and guidance all through these years of our existence.
Music
Over the years, apart from the traditional Hymns and Gospels, the East Parade Chorale has demonstrated robust efficiency in adapting to a repertoire consisting of Western Classicals that includes compositions by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, and Vivaldi to Negro Spirituals and Contemporary.
Training
The choir meets for practice on Saturday evenings and Sundays. Vocal training involves breathing and tonal lessons and exercises. It is the synergy of this training and the blessing from above that equip the singers and finetune their voices to render each piece.
Practice Timings:
Saturdays: 4pm
Sundays: 9:45am and after Worship Service

A few other activities that makes the choir to grow as a family in Christ:

In reach
The Choir visits the homes of the elderly members of the church who are unable to attend worship service. and sing their favourite songs and spend time with them.
Potluck Dinner
The Choir organizes potluck dinner for choristers and families, wherein a wide variety of delicacies are cooked by the choristers and served. Truly a time of fun and fellowship.
Secret Santa
During Christmas season, the choristers play the very popular Christmas game - Secret Santa - where each member is secretly assigned to be another member’s Secret Santa and on the final day, exchange gifts with each other.
‘Old is Gold’
Old is Gold is the stall run by the choir on the day of Harvest Festival where old or unused items like books, toys, electronics, musical instruments etc brought by choristers are sold to raise funds and also to promote the concept of reuse.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir of our church is an integral part of our Church Choir; it has added a sense of joy and commitment among the members of the Church Choir. For us, as the Choir of East Parade Malayalam Pastorate, our commitment to the Junior Choir originates in a Holy calling. It is clearly a calling from God. Telling us very quietly, but very persistently, that this is THE THING that He has created us to do for His Kingdom. It is more than dynamic levels and singing posture and so much more than the next performance. We believe that MUSIC is God’s instrument to bring little souls and even whole families into His Kingdom. It is teaching these little ones what it means to really worship. We help them understand that God inhabits the praises of His people and that those aren’t just pretty words. He really does live where people are praising Him; He manifests His presence when we praise Him with pure hearts.
The East Parade Malayalam Junior Choir has strength of 60 to70 children ranging from the age group of 4 years to 14 years. The children have regular practices on Sundays, after the church service. They also participate actively in the Church Services on every Sunday.
The Junior Choir has enabled the children to hone their musical talent and also gained a great deal of confidence in their singing ability. To the church, the Junior Choir has brought in freshness and added vigor to congregational singing.
