Experience the joy, confidence and well-being that come from singing together.

Whether you've sung all your life or have never sung a note before, you are genuinely welcome.

At HeartSong, we believe everyone can sing. Over the years we've welcomed hundreds of people into our choirs - from complete beginners to experienced singers, and many who once believed they were "tone deaf." Time and again we've seen people discover confidence, friendship and a voice they never knew they had.

Our choirs are about so much more than learning songs. They're about finding connection, expressing yourself, supporting one another and having a lot of fun along the way.

A Safe, Supportive Space to Explore Your Voice

Our workshops are designed to help you grow naturally, whatever your starting point.

    • You do not need to read music.

    • You do not need any previous singing experience.

    • You will never be asked to sing on your own unless you want to.

    • Everything is taught by ear in a relaxed, friendly and encouraging environment where every voice matters.

    What You'll Develop

As the weeks progress you'll naturally build:

    • Breath control

    • Vocal strength and projection

    • Pitch and tone awareness

    • Harmony singing

    • Musical confidence

    • Greater self-expression

Progress comes through encouragement, practice and shared experience - not perfection.

    Included with Your Course

As part of your 10-week course, you'll receive a copy of Peter's Vocal Exercise Bike - a collection of his tried and tested vocal exercises to help you develop and strengthen your voice at home.

The exercises are simple, enjoyable and designed to improve breath control, vocal strength, flexibility, pitch awareness and confidence, supporting everything you learn in the weekly workshops. Whether you're completely new to singing or have sung for years, they're a wonderful way to continue developing your voice between sessions and long after the course has finished.

    The Music

We sing an uplifting mix of pop, rock and traditional gospel-inspired music from across the decades.

Previous songs have included music by The Beatles, David Bowie, The Cranberries, ABBA, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Elbow, The Feeling, The Killers and many more.

We also love hearing your song suggestions, so our repertoire continues to grow with the choir.

    Led by Peter

The workshops are led by Peter, a professional musician, singing teacher, vocal coach and group facilitator with more than 35 years' experience helping people discover their natural voice.

Peter began his musical journey in the 1970s as the frontman of a punk band and has worked professionally in music ever since. Throughout his career he has coached chart artists, professional musicians, community choirs, complete beginners and people who believed they were "tone deaf."

His approach goes far beyond simply teaching people to sing. He helps people release self-doubt, build confidence and reconnect with the natural voice they already possess, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels safe to explore and enjoy singing.

Peter's work was featured in The Guardian, which described his approach as:

"Peter's method is about helping people find and trust their voice, physically, emotionally and psychologically. He's inspiring and encouraging yet thoroughly down to earth. There are a lot of references to bodily functions as well as the bad jokes."

Alongside his music career, Peter has formal training in counselling and spiritual development, together with many years of experience in meditation teaching and group facilitation. These experiences help shape HeartSong's warm, grounded and supportive atmosphere.

Together, Peter and Ema have been creating welcoming singing communities for many years, where music becomes a powerful way to build confidence, friendship, creativity and well-being.

    What Our Singers Say

"The thought of 'performing' would have sent me running once upon a time, but with HeartSong Normandie it always feels like a glorious coming together and celebration of what we've achieved that we're simply sharing."

That's exactly what HeartSong is all about.

It's not about perfection. It's about growing in confidence, allowing yourself to shine, discovering your shared voice and creating something wonderful together.

"It's lovely to be part of such a wonderful group of people."

"You've brought out things we didn't know we had - for that we are truly in debt to you both. Thank you."

    Our Shared Journey

This September we're beginning a 10-week course as we work towards our joyful HeartSong Christmas Concert in December (date to be confirmed).

Our workshops are designed as a shared journey, with each week building on the last. To help both you and the choir get the most from the experience, we ask everyone who joins to commit to the full 10-week course, attend the weekly workshops and perform with the choir at our Christmas Concert. Every voice plays an important part in what we create together, and regular attendance helps both your confidence and the sound of the whole choir grow.

    We also encourage everyone to:

    • Listen to the songs between sessions and enjoy a little singing practice at home.

    • Arrive with curiosity, openness and a willingness to try something new.

    • Trust the process - confidence grows week by week.

    • Support and encourage your fellow choir members as we learn together.

    • Bring your sense of humour, your enthusiasm and, if the mood takes you, the occasional freestyle dance move! (Always welcome, never compulsory!)

When everyone brings a little commitment, the whole choir grows. Friendships deepen, harmonies become stronger and everyone benefits from the shared experience.

Above all, HeartSong is about encouraging one another, celebrating our progress and enjoying the wonderful experience of making music together.

    Our Goal

At the end of the course we'll come together to perform in our HeartSong Christmas Concert in December (date to be confirmed) - a joyful celebration of everything we've created together and a wonderful opportunity to share our music with family, friends and the wider community.
