One of the things we find with our choir is that during the middle or the year (our New Zealand winter) , we're often plagued with choir members getting sick, wintery bitter weather (so nobody wants to leave their warm homes), or members taking trips to the pacific for sun, rest and relaxation.
This year we decided to put together a programme of music that wasn't so heavy resource wise to learn and we wanted to create a fun concert for the audience too.
Sound Tracks is the title of the next concert to be performed on Sunday 16 August by the Hutt Valley Singers.
As the title suggests, the programme consists of songs which have all featured in movies.
With songs ranging from Mozart’s “Ave Verum” to “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, there is sure to be
something to suit everyone.
‘It’s a great programme with solos, small groups and the full choir’ says Musical Director, Joanne Roelofs,
‘for an audience who may love a good movie choral score, to musicals, to a medley from the series featuring the worlds
Ultimate Gentleman Spy – come and see if you know your movie music!’
With what is set to be an entertaining programme of well-known pieces, the Hutt Valley Singers look forward to sharing
an afternoon of great music.
‘Sound Tracks’ is being held at the Upper Hutt Baptist Church, Cnr Fergusson Drive and Milton Street, Upper Hutt, New Zealand.
2.30pm on Sunday, 16th August 2015. Adults $15 and Children $5. Tickets sold at the door.
