    Background of the Festival: http://www.faf.org/main/special-highlight-the-rhythms-of-one-world/

Since its 2012 premiere in New York City, “The Rhythms of One World” international choral festival unites voices from across the globe while also celebrating the United Nations’ ‘birthday,’ the signing of the UN Charter “We the Peoples” (June 1945). The Festival reinforces Friendship Ambassadors Foundation’s (FAF; Festival Producer) mission: promoting mutual understanding and global cooperation through music. Beyond that, it has been a meaningful celebration of one of the world’s most important events: the birth of the United Nations. Celebrating this event with our colleagues at the UN, hundreds of young voices through the world, and thousands of spectators has enabled new thinking about the role of culture and the arts within the UN system.

In 2012, the Festival opened to great fanfare at Lincoln Center, NY Philharmonic Avery Fisher Hall in Manhattan, with rave reviews from the New York Times, and a full house of impressed audience members. The Festival closed later that week at the UN General Assembly Hall, where diplomats from across the globe offered their support and endorsement for these efforts. In 2014, the festival is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland with the main concert will be held at the Victoria Hall on July 6 and the Palais des Nations in UN Geneva on July 8. Individual concerts will be held throughout the festival week of July 3-9.

Special Travel Grant to Directors: Festival Directors' FAM Trip to Ireland in April  12-17

Interested choirs and choir directors are strongly encouraged to join us  in Ireland in April 12-17 on a Directors Familiarization Trip to learn about the Festival. Participating directors will have the opportunity to visit concert venues, hotels, and also see the important attractions suitable for collegiate and youth choral ensembles. Receptions and meetings with local hosts will take place in this visit. An FAF staff will be with the choir directors all throughout during this FAM trip to ensure that all of your concert tour planning needs and expectations are noted. This opportunity is also available for choirs who are considering touring Ireland and the region for 2014-2015. This is a free, land-only program; airfares will be refunded once the choir commits to participating in our Festival in 2015.
